HBO Games

Today we're having a game on HBO class; it's so much fun... We were still thinking as what we did in the OM QDP game... So we did mistakes by being individualist per each can group... And we're not aware with the instruction that WE as an AIM MBA 2009 C3 have to work together, not doing it by can groups... But even though the grand total of the orders are 0, we especially me enjoy the game so much... And then we move to the bridge making games, second round... Actually we did it well but I don’t know what the consideration for the winner is, we didn't make it this time... Rajesh my can group mates were so pissed to know we didn't make it... Last time when I received my 1st Mid FM exam, I was so pissed because I didn't pass... But then I think I learn my lesson that we have to practice to be able to understand... Then I practice all the problems before the 2nd mid test... And today the results came out and I passed.... I'm so glad... My only hope in AIM is to be able to survive till the end a.k.a. My graduation day... I just need to pass that is what I keep telling myself... So I have to study harder... 'Coz I want to be an MBA... To pleased my parents also...

Corporate Culture

Today HBO class was about corporate culture. How was that different between corporate and organizational culture? A lot of perceptions being discussed... And today My Can Group got the chance to present... We brought up the different culture between formal and informal boss...

At first when my can group mates told me about his idea, I was thinking that it was so ridiculous... But yeah I still follow his instructions...The ridiculous part is when they forced me to do a play that I need 2 weeks leave for my marriage, I thought that was too much... But after we finished the play I can feel that many people getting more excited, and our HBO Professor loves it... I'm really glad that I still being a part of the play... And it was good after all...

I just realized that I've been in that exact same situation before... When I'm asking for a short leave to my manager it's going to be really easy, and he will always say yes... But for a longer period I should face my VP, which is a real formal person... I don't even dare to sit whenever I enter his room... He will ask me to go to the HR department and check what I could take and do...

Ambiance is a real important part in a work place... It could change everyone's mood... HBO class is really interesting BTW... Never thought that it's going to be a lot of fun in class... Getting excited to see what's going to happen tomorrow in HBO class...

First day of HBO - What makes a best employer?

This morning I'm still trying to recover from the one week holiday... Wished that I could turn back time and enjoy another week of holiday... But we should face the reality that class has started... First class was at 09.30 this morning... And it was HBO class... Which I thought going to be another hard subject... But actually the class was really fun... Even though a lot of BS happens in the class, but it gives much insight of people’s personal experience in their previous company...

Today I haven't got the time to tell my story about both previous companies I'm working for... Which were really different from one another... I really hate my first working experience, because the boss is really intimidating especially when he just got scolded from the big boss than he will call all of his staff (us) and scolds us... Where in the second company I really enjoy my time there... This second company has a method of making everyone as part of the family in the company, so you'll feel that you belong there and your existence in the company makes difference... And also my manager he's really supportive... He gives us freedom, as long as we know the limit...

Well I also enjoy the film showing... I heard a friend who's working in an American company in Jakarta, that the company is working with provide them a room full with games stuff, e.g. PS3, Nintendo Wii, Fuse ball table, etc... I thought wow that sound so great, is that for real... Than now I know that there is actually a company like that...

Now I really can tell that to make someone endure in the company is not only the salary, but the way they were treated... Hope I could get some more insight in the next HBO class tomorrow...
